Just a fraction of the cool stuff I learned when researching women’s history.
guys just imagine
a punk-rock concert takes places on a beach and a group of mermaids swim to the surface, wondering what that noise is because it’s the most incredible thing they’ve ever heard
and see land-walkers wearing peculiar outfits and hair in spikes and these mermaids are absolutely in love
so they start their own brand of punk culture with squid ink tattoos, seaweed tartan, fish-hook earrings and pierced tails
and they scavenge for thrown out music memorabilia and submerged leather jackets (their prized treasure is a waterproof radio they found on the beach)
and the real problem is trying to find a way to spike their hair, so for the moment they just use seashells and continue being hella cool
That feel when you want to go visit peeps during what could be your last big weekend off for a long while, while you still have some extra money, but you still can’t afford tickets.

I teared up a bit watching this the other night
Drove all the way to Birmingham yesterday just to finally visit a LEGO store. It was kind of small, and everything of interest was really expensive so I didn’t buy anything. But still, it felt nice to have an adventure.
Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey (2014)
It’s been a very long time since legitimate science has been on TV. People have been watching Ancient Aliens and shit and there are kids whose parents and even teachers don’t offer them any bona-fide scientific education. Cosmos is a big deal.
Especially airing on a network whose biggest audience are otherwise science-hating bible-thumpers and willfully ignorant douchebros.
All those shitty assholes stand a chance of at least finding out what a tardigrade is and if that makes any difference in their lives it can only be a positive one
This day is called the feast of Crispian: He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian.[...]We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
The eleventh of March is a brilliant day.
